# What happens when we  have a bad night?

Honest answer: your phone still rings. CallsAround is built so that dead air is structurally impossible — failover happens at the phone network, below the AI stack.

## Canaries that actually talk to your line

An answer canary probes each line every few minutes to confirm it picks up. A separate conversational canary calls every 15 minutes and literally asks the agent, "May I speak to a human?" — then checks that the answer is right. It is monitoring the experience, not just the dial tone.

## Carrier-level dead-man failover

Two consecutive canary failures automatically flip the number to plain carrier forwarding — at the phone network, beneath the AI stack. Even if the entire voice platform were down, calls still route to your fallback number. Detection and route-around happen in under ten minutes.

## One-tap incident bypass

An incident switchboard in the dashboard lets you flip any single line — or every line at once — to carrier forwarding instantly. You are never waiting on a support ticket to take back control of your phone.

## A public status page

A live status page shows whether all systems are operational, how many lines are monitored, and the last incident — the same honesty we would want from any service our own phone depends on.
